Old Man Winter is here, but we don’t have cold feet yet! That’s because Williamsburg always gives you something to do and a reason to celebrate—even in the coldest months of the year with Winter Weekends at Busch Gardens.
Right now, we’re loving life at Busch Gardens, where you can kick off the new year with Winter Weekends that bring friends and family closer together. Here’s what’s going on Saturdays and Sundays at Busch Gardens’ winter wonderland through January 23.
Musical Entertainment
Celebrate the new year with live local bands representing and rocking out to a new decade every weekend in Das Festhaus. This weekend, catch Snap, an energetic band playing nostalgic tunes and music from the 90’s. See the full lineup here.
Come warm up in the iconic Abbey Stone Theatre with Killarney Village Band, Busch Gardens’ popular house band. Stop by to sing along to all your favorite Irish ditties that are sure to get you in the spirit for a pint at Grogan’s Pub!

As always, Busch Gardens has world-class rides and coasters for all ages. Soar through the winter sky on your favorite iconic thrill rides.

Sunny Day Celebration:
Come see your Sesame Street friends live on stage in Sesame Street® Forest of Fun™. Join Elmo and friends as they dance, sing, play games, and enjoy a sunny day in January!
Land of the Dragons:
Enter a whimsical land filled with mythological creatures and a ton of fun for your youngest family members. Little ones can enjoy climbing nets and rides such as Flutter Sputter and Bug-A-Dug in this magical play area!
Fur & Feathers Scavenger Hunt:
This interactive, parkwide scavenger hunt uses fun facts to teach families about animals and the impact that they have on the environment.
Frosty Meet & Greet:
Visit Frosty for a cozy photo op in Germany!
Lights at Night:
As the sun goes down, the park is once again transformed by millions of sparkling lights adorning eight charming villages. Be sure to bundle up for this breathtaking display!
Animal Experiences
Busch Gardens is offering amazing opportunities for people of all ages to get closer to animals and understand the crucial roles they play in our environment.
Conservation Ambassadors Presentation:
Discover animals from around the world in England’s Globe Theatre. Learn about the origins and mannerisms of amazing creatures such as a capuchin monkey, a baby kangaroo, a lemur and an alligator!
Up-Close Animal Exploration Stations:
Meet furry, scaly, and feathered friends at animal exploration stations located throughout
the park. Discover how wildlife champions and animal advocates are making a difference every day, from research and education to concentrated conservation efforts.
Trainer Talks:
Busch Gardens’ zoological team educates guests and answers questions about the animal ambassadors that call Busch Gardens Williamsburg home, including Clydesdale horses, blackface sheep, grey wolves, birds of prey, reptiles and the friendly resident border collie, Skye!
